"You don't take a photograph; you ask quietly to borrow it."
For the last four years, I've been wrestling with what kind of photographer I am. I read an article not too long ago that suggested photographers should shoot for themselves and not for their clients. Meaning that all that creativity my clients will hire me for will be found in a photograph that makes me happy. I've discovered that I am not Anne Geddes. I am not Olan Mills. I'm Melissa Williams. I like to photograph candid life moments. I like loads of color and a little bit of sun in my photos. I love laughter and hugs and kisses in my photos. I would love you in them, too.
